2. Dishes Not Cleaning Properly

Causes:

• Clogged spray arms preventing water from reaching all surfaces. 

• Low water temperature or pressure affecting cleaning performance. 

• Overloading racks restricting water flow. 

• Dirty filters or drain areas reducing efficiency.

Warrantability: 

• Alberta New Home Warranty: Generally, not covered unless poor installation affects water pressure or flow. 

• Builder Warranty (1 Year): May apply for water-related issues caused by poor installation 

• Manufacturer Warranty: If registered, faulty components such as motors or pumps may carry extended coverage.

Repair Solution:

• If within warranty period: Contact serviceQ for support if defective components contribute to poor cleaning. 
• If outside warranty: Clean spray arms to remove clogs; soak them in vinegar or warm water if mineral deposits are present. Adjust loading to allow proper water circulation inside the dishwasher. Check filters and drains for clogs and clean them thoroughly. 

3. Dishwasher Won’t Fill with Water

Causes:

• Faulty or clogged water inlet valve preventing water flow into the dishwasher. 

• Low water pressure or shutoff valve closed, restricting water supply to the unit. 

• Damaged or malfunctioning float switch preventing the dishwasher from initiating a fill cycle. 

• Defective door latch or door sensor failing to signal the dishwasher to start filling. 

• Blocked or kinked water supply lines restricting water flow.

• Alberta New Home Warranty (1 Year): Covered under the 1-Year workmanship warranty if improper installation caused poor water supply connections.

• Manufacturer Warranty (1-2 Years): If registered, faulty components like water inlet valves, float switches, or door sensors are typically covered under the manufacturer's warranty during the initial 1–2 years. 

Repair Solution 

• If within warranty period: Contact serviceQ for inspection and necessary repairs. 
• If outside warranty: Ensure the water shutoff valve is fully open and that water pressure to the dishwasher is adequate. Inspect the water inlet valve for clogs or debris and clean or replace it as needed. Check the float switch for debris, damage, or mechanical obstructions, and clean or repair it if necessary. Verify that the door latch is secure and functioning correctly; if damaged, replace it to avoid further issues. Ensure water supply lines are free of blockages or kinks, replacing any damaged hoses or connections. 

4. Dishwasher Leaks

Causes:

• Improper installation, such as loose water connections or poorly sealed hoses. 

• Damaged or worn-out door gaskets or seals allowing water to escape. 

• Cracked or damaged hoses, typically due to age or physical wear. 

• Excessive suds caused by using non-dishwasher detergent.

• Builder's Warranty (1 Year): Likely covered during the first 1 year if leaks stem from improper installation.

Repair Solution:

• If outside warranty: Replace worn or damaged door gaskets or seals with manufacturer-approved parts. Inspect and tighten water connections and replace cracked hoses. Avoid using regular dish soap to prevent excessive sudsing and future leaks.
